Keppler
Culligan Water Treatment has been solving water problems for homes and businesses
in the community since Charlie Keppler Sr. opened his
doors in 1953, at the corner of Eckerson and Cedar
Street in Akron, New York. At
that time, Charlie was the one and only employee! During
the 70's, two of his sons, Corky and Peter, and a
daughter-in-law, Patti, joined the business. In 1985,
the company expanded and opened facilities in Lima, N.Y.
Today the Keppler family employs 34 people and serves
nine counties. Now, the family has launched a new
venture with the opening in 1998 of their brand new,
state-of-the-art bottled water plant.
The plant
produces the highest quality drinking water available in a
bottle and has a
capacity of 250 five-gallon bottles of water per hour. The
process starts with Akron's very own village water which
is then treated with triple filtration, reverse osmosis,
and de-ionization allowing the Kepplers to make the claim
of "purified drinking water"--the highest rating
of water in the bottled water industry. While the quality
of spring water may vary when bottled, the Keppler plant
will produce consistent, high quality water monitored and
recorded by a computerized control system.
Today the
company offers bottled water cooler rentals to homes and
businesses along with their many other water
services--free water testing, sales or rentals of
household and commercial water treatment systems, salt and
bottled water deliveries, and repair service for all makes
and models of water conditioning equipment.
The Kepplers
would like to invite the community to stop in to see their
new bottled water operation at 31 Lewis Road, Rt. 93, Akron, New
York, and learn more about drinking
water. They are open every day, Monday through Friday,
8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
